Any brother have a story to share about a Nupe who has influenced your life or career?
This could be a Nupe you looked up to that inspired you to become a member, a supervisor, a teacher, or even a brother you’ve never actually met but inspired you to become more successful.May 20, 2020 at 10:15 pm #8371TRAVIS J WINTERSParticipantMy former mentor Dr. Clyde Knox who passed away a few years ago from ALSO.
May 20, 2020 at 10:39 pm #8372Justin NashKeymaster@t-j-winters I’m sorry to hear about Brother Knox. If you don’t mind, can you elaborate. How did he influence you?
Was he a quintessential Kappa man? Or did he do something specific that inspired you?

He was a quintessential Kappa/Nupe because he was more than a family dentist but a mentor to who had a wealth of Knowledge and wisdom who always taught me how to a better man, husband, father, frat brother and friend to al by providing advice in all levels of lifel. He always dressed sharp and carried himself with style and was debonair as a Kappa always should in public.

May 21, 2020 at 9:19 am #8378Dru HassenKeymasterI would like to share mine. I had two who influenced me.
First is a family relative who was in the frat. He opened my eyes to greek life. I spent my summer in Minnesota with my grandparents after graduating from high school. So it was natural that my relatives wanted me to get introduced to another college-educated family member. This was influential because it was great to see someone going the college route, but also embracing the college culture of being active in different organizations. So naturally, when I came to college, Kappa Alpha Psi is was what I was drawn too.
The second brother that influenced me was Jimmie Cauley (Eta Lambda Spring 02). During my freshman year I worked with him at the local campus recreation center. He took me under his wing and put me on so much game. I would ask him a million questions and he always had a solid answer. I really appreciated how he mentored me and treated as an equal even after telling him I was interested in joining the frat. He was always down to earth and was the first to congratulate me when I crossed into the frat. He even helped me land my first job after graduating. I owe a lot to this brother.

He took the time to break down this whole thing. Proud to call him “Brother” and to be brought in under his leadership.
